So, to answer the main question, no i dont think youre a bad friend. BUT, i think i would have gone about it a little bit differently, life for example, instead of "convincing" her, i would have showed her the truth and let her make the decisions, and also, when he wanted to talk to her, i wouldnt haves stopped him.
