Is there a way to change a light socket from a 2 pin plug-in CFL to a screw-in CFL?

There CAN'T be an adapter. You need to REPLACE the existing fixtures with fixtures designed for 'old fashion' incandescent bulbs. The screw in CFLs actually have a BUILT in adapter FROM incandescent to florescent. The plug in florescent lights are NOT CFLs.
