How do cops keep their cool when arresting extremely repulsive criminals?

because cops arent 11 years old and crybabies with emotions all over the place. cops are able to be cops because they arent emotional. the emotional ppl dont ever make it far in the cop world if they even get in in the first place. everyone has a different personality.
