How to record gaming on my pc?

Looking for any good programs that can allow me to record video games that i play on my pc?I have downloaded the total video recorder trial version from microsoft but the darn thing wont record sound/audio can anyone hlp me with this problem or suggest another program that can gotten for free thats more reliable.
