I have dark brown looking moles on both of my that are hard & slightly raised?

They appeared about year & half ago but was weary on going to see my GP about it.... However, it has gone from 3 of them to 5 now. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what is the cause? They are dark brown/black in colour, slightly raised and feel hard :(
